Making Kalamata Entrepreneurial!

Photos from the event:

Making students entrepreneurial, that's our motto. Last week, we had the opportunity to share our excitement about entrepreneurship with Kalamata's youth. Our first ever physical event in Kalamata and our first physical event after years of COVID and quarantine was hosted at the Messinian Chamber in Kalamata, on Saturday, October 6th. Captain Vassilis and Carmen Constantakopoulos Foundation supported the event.

The theme was "Agrifood Solving" and was mainly focused on promoting the entrepreneurial spirit in the area, bringing youth and local entrepreneurs closer and the opportunity to gain soft skills through workshops and activities. All university students and recent graduates were given free participation for Mindspace University in order to kick-start their entrepreneurial journey and broaden their entrepreneurial mindset.

The first part was about our speakers and their entrepreneurial journey, tips and tricks of the Agricultural Sector. Anastasios Karambatsos from Karambotsos Olive Oil Company, Nikos Koutsoukos from Olive School of Kalamata, Ioanna Milioni from Kalamata's Olive Oil Tasting Lab and Ioannis Pazios from the Agricultural Union of Messinia. Three of our speakers also hosted their own workshops. Mary Riga from Cremer and Partners Law Firm hosted a legal workshop, Nelly Kouvelaki from Phaos hosted a workshop about social entrepreneurship and Ilias Kalfakakos from AlphaBrain hosted a workshop about entrepreneurship bottlenecks and problem-solving.

The second part was about our participants. They had time to work on the workshops our speakers had set up for them. During this time our speakers also acted as mentors, helping each team who needed help. The final stage of this part was for all the teams to present what they had prepared in front of our speakers who acted as judges. The judges decided the winning team by rating and judging each one based on 4 factors: Innovation, Presentation, Relevance and Feasibility. The winning team was given a certificate of success and 2 people from the 1st and 2nd ranking team were given free participation, transportation and accommodation to one of our cooperative Erasmus+ training hosted in Cyprus about "Developing Employability through the Entrepreneurial Method".
